Don't use AM_MAINTAINER_MODE, to ensure that all build files get updated when necessary. This is equal to always specifying --enable-maintainer-mode. AM_MAINTAINER_MODE should not be used if the generated build files aren't included in the source distribution (which is cvs in our case).
